Saturday: Harvard Bass @ Le Belmont

It's this Saturday, the 5th of December! Call Sunday off at work, plan the night with friends, and get yourself in the mood for some Harvard Bass!

Here's what you can expect at Le Belmont (4483 Saint-Laurent) this Saturday night, for a mere $10 paid at the door.

As Heard From Mars (asheard.com) presents an exciting DJ lineup.

Headlining the night will be the talented Harvard Bass (harvardbass.com), signed by French record label Sound Pellegrino. As Teki Latex put it after the release of international hits "Caked" and "81", played by the likes of Crookers andTiga: "...the music of Harvard Bass is a combination of elegant, smooth and sophisticated minimalism on one side and bad ass dirty jacking ghetto house grooves with filthy drums and simple, obsessive riffs on the other."

He hasn't been around for long. In fact, we could say it all started in 2008, with Caked/ 81 making some noise and his remix of Orgasmic and Tekitek's The Sixpack Anthem. This year, he's kept the ball rolling with his tasteful remix of Beni's Maximus, released on Kitsuné Music.

And this Saturday, Montreal gets to experience a party signed Harvard Bass, thanks to As Heard From Mars.

Next up, it's local sensation Panton (myspace.com/pantonmusic). Especially known for his work as Mister Ed of Montreal duo NROTB, Panton will be making his debut as a solo artist this Saturday. He and his music partner are back home, fresh off a little tour in California.

Panton is an immersion into the tech-house side of things. While his first track Favela has already been played by Sinden and charted in Dj Neotreric's (Dubsided) charts for october 2009, Panton is hard at work producing more and more hypnotizing tech-house beats, punctuated by shiver-inducing voice samples.

And last, but definitely not least, to complete the lineup, it will be As Heard's dynamic duo and good friends Victoria Lab (myspace.com/victorialabmusic). The music these two have been producing is totally in sync with the genres put forward by Harvard Bass and Panton.

During the summer of 2009, Victoria Lab dove head first in the pool of minimal and tech music, and they have now begun to swim. Producing fresh tracks such as Lobster and Ten Thousand And One, Victoria Lab is turning the heads of many and sparking lots of interest in this different genre of music.
