Un nouvel abribus plus fonctionnel et plus sécuritaire signé Leblanc/Turcotte/Spooner

Shuko Montréal- Annonce du Lauréat du Concours de Design d'Abribus

Montréal, le 18 janvier 2010 – "La Ville de Montréal a dévoilé la proposition lauréate du concours de design d’abribus élaborée par le consortium Leblanc/Turcotte/Spooner. Le concours visait à concevoir un nouvel abribus incluant divers éléments tels le support d’affichage publicitaire, le banc et le système d’alimentation solaire. La Société de transport de Montréal (STM) prévoit faire fabriquer 400 abribus pour l’ensemble de son réseau afin de remplacer progressivement son parc actuel et de répondre aux nouveaux besoins.

Un abribus modulable plus accessible

Inspirée par la nouvelle signature identitaire de la STM « Mouvement collectif », la proposition de Leblanc + Turcotte + Spooner présente une solution modulaire et évolutive. Doté d’une structure autoportante, le concept proposé permet de réaliser des modèles de base et de relier plusieurs unités entre elles afin de créer des configurations de tailles variables pouvant accueillir un plus grand nombre de voyageurs.

Une colonne dédiée à la communication pourrait accueillir différents composants tels que l’affichage dynamique et des affiches publicitaires rétroéclairées. Un système d’énergie solaire est prévu pour éclairer l’édicule aux endroits privés d’accès au réseau électrique.
Le jury a particulièrement apprécié les possibilités d’intégration et de modularité qu’offre la proposition de l’équipe lauréate. « Cet avant-projet présente un balayage intéressant de la problématique complexe soumise aux designers. Le concept intègre des solutions technologiques actuelles et répond aux exigences de la STM en matière de confort et de sécurité », ont indiqué les coprésidents du jury, Mme Denise Vaillancourt, directrice exécutive, Planification, marketing, communications de la STM, et M. Gilles Saucier, architecte et associé de la firme Saucier + Perrotte.

C'est enfin le grand jour.

La température aujourd'hui est pour le moins idéale. Météomédia nous annonce un jolie 0 degré (au plus froid à -3) et 40 % de précipitation d'averses. Bien entendu, une petite neige rendrait l'ouverture de l'IGLOOFEST 2010 encore plus féerique à mes yeux. Mais tout semble en place pour le début d'un festival qui améliore de 1000 notre niveau de vie durant nos rigoureux hivers! Bon d'accord, nous n'avons plus les hivers d'autrefois, mais tout de même, l'igloofest rend normalement heureux en janvier.

Qui ne se souvient pas des cassettes plastiques, des manettes à 3 boutons (bon d'accord, 5 avec «select» et «start») et des jeux hyper simples, qui consistait la majeure partie du temps à courir vers la droite de l'écran!

Closing out 2009

As you may have noticed, during the month of December I initiated a countdown of my Top 30 tracks/remixes of the year 2009, posting Numbers 11-30 (click HERE to check out positions 11-30).

For those who've been waiting for the final Top 10 to complete the list, the wait is over.

But there's more... I thought it would be interesting to ask well-known local DJs to submit their very own Top 10 lists to Duke of Swabia. The idea was well-received, and they were excited to share their personal favorites; whether those be the tracks that spiced up their sets and made their respective crowds go nuts, or the tracks that they kept to themselves and listened to at home.

Every DJ has very unique musical tastes that define and reflect who they are as an artist. Here was an opportunity to pick their brains and get to know a little more about the DJs we've danced for so many times in '09.

I would like to thank all the participating DJs for their time and support, and I wish them continued success in 2010. I'll take this opportunity to also thank all the readers and supporters of Duke of Swabia for the love and interest we've been getting since the fall of 2009; it's been so much fun and this new year is full of promise.
