In these tough economic times, it might not be easy to find an affordable gift for the old man. Why not rather show your love by cooking them their favorite meal for dinner!? It perhaps does not sound like such an original idea. Of course, if their favorite meal is pizza, spaghetti, or poutine... well, it may not be such a fantastic idea after all. But surprise them; dig deeper!
For me, for instance, my father is French (from France). He used to live in the south-central department of Corrèze and Bordeaux, and always enjoyed regional delicacies, such as the
miassou and
canelés. It's been more than a decade since his last bite into one of these delicious pastries. Happy Father's Day!!
